Over the last few months, I’ve been reflecting on all that the Lord has done in my life since moving to Raleigh five years ago. My heart is bursting with gratitude for how He has provided for me and changed my heart through community and abundant opportunities at Providence Church, including three mission trips to Sweden, two life group multiplications, and many young adult events. Our God is so kind to open doors where we get to know and enjoy Him more.
Soon, I’ll be leaving what I have had the pleasure of calling my first church home and joining Tabernacle Baptist Church. While recounting all the joys and challenges of the last five years, I was reminded of a prayer I’ve written over and over in journals for the last couple of years: “Lord, please open doors for new opportunities”. The Lord is faithful to provide and I am excited to say “yes” to this opportunity that’s in front of me! If you are considering joining us in this effort to revitalize Tabernacle, I would urge you to recount all the Lord has done – how he has led you, healed you, provided for you – and the prayers He has answered or even has yet to answer.
Church revitalization is unfamiliar territory, but so was evangelizing to Swedish university students, leading a hospitality team, and joining a life group for the very first time. The Lord prepared me before and I’m confident He is preparing me now to step into a new place to share the hope I have in Him with others. The challenges ahead are inevitable, but there is also so much excitement in anticipating what the Lord will do with open and willing hands. My prayer is that in five more years, I’ll be sharing another story of the Lord’s faithfulness at Tabernacle.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
—Hebrews 10:23
